Fix distribution of collaboration beat payments

Hey,

Recently i have been getting very annoyed with how collaboration payments are distributed while bulk deal promotions are being run.

I worked on a track with a fellow collaborator, and the track is sold in a bulk deal, as a Buy 1 get 1 free promotion.

2 of these sales over the last few weeks, the track that i’ve worked on was the “get 1 free”. So I got paid $0 despite these sales being $100+.

I feel that this system is unfair, because the person purchasing is still benefiting from my hard work, but I am not being compensated for it, meanwhile the producer who makes the sale is. In potential repeat business, and through financial means.

I have a suggestion for beatstars to change this though.

Currently when a collaboration is sold in a buy 1 get 1 free promotion beat 2 pays out $0. But beat 1 pays out $100 (in this instance).

Why doesn’t this change so that the sale is split equally (based on the promotion being run) I.E $100 = $50 + $50, and then the collaboration is split on one half of the transaction. So if I worked on beat 2 and there are no collaborators on beat 1, The seller gets $50 from beat 1, and $25 from beat 2. And I (the collaborator) receives $25 from beat 2.

I feel that this is an important issue to correct so that all of the creators involved can be paid fairly.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, i hope my feedback goes to good use.

Thank you for reaching out to us with your request and for explaining in detail your idea of how to improve the transaction/split flow where collaborators and bulk deals are in place.

We have no current plans at this time to change how this works. However, we will take into consideration your suggestion, as we continue to improve our platform and features.
